It's Official: TYLin International-Designed Bridge Named ‘Macao Bridge’!

According to an announcement by the Macao SAR Government, the Fourth Macao-Taipa Cross-Sea Bridge—designed by T.Y. Lin International—has been officially named the “Macao Bridge”

The decision followed a public naming campaign for the bridge, during which the selection committee shortlisted five proposed names: *Macao Bridge*, *New City Bridge*, *Jinghai Bridge* (inspired by Macao’s ancient name “Mirror Sea”), *Silver Jubilee Bridge*, and *Houjiang Bridge* (referencing Macao’s nickname “Hoeng Gong”). After careful consideration, the SAR government ultimately selected **“Macao Bridge”** as the official name.

The campaign saw enthusiastic participation from residents, with 5,703 citizens submitting a total of nearly 14,000 suggestions. During the preliminary review stage, the committee narrowed the entries to 88 nominations, including 37 unique names, before finalizing the top five contenders.

The Fourth Macao-Taipa Cross-Sea Bridge, now officially the Macao Bridge, stands as a symbol of connectivity and progress, further integrating Macao’s urban landscape and reinforcing its infrastructural ambitions.
